36 Hours in Nantucket

Now I know what Ishmael meant in Moby Dick when he explained why he set sail from Nantucket…”there was a fine, boisterous something about everything connected with that famous old island”.   Between the cobblestone streets, the harbor’s display of gorgeous boats, the pristine beaches, and the most well maintained bike/hike trails, I was hooked.  Even if the weather didn’t cooperate (torrential downpours with gusty winds), it didn’t stop the insanity. Arrived in time for dinner at Lola for delicious sushi before some late night singing with the piano man at the Club Car.  The next morning we were in the gym at the Westmoor trying to stay dry.  Had lunch both days at Provisions, only the best tomato/mozzarella/avocado/basil sandwich on homemade ciabata I’ve ever tasted! We even managed to practice sunset yoga with Shannah at the Yoga Room where she inspired us to consciously try in the last weeks of the summer to slow down at least 10% and enjoy the clarity.  Our bike ride around the island took us 2 hours from Madeket to Siasconset on the polpis route in the mist and fog…it felt like a cheap facial!   The Lighthouse in the Wauwinet distance looked quite far away in the clouds.  Don’t forget to get some retail therapy at Gypsy on main street and eat dinner at  Sfoglia which is seriously delicious italian food!  Sit at the bar.  Now go enjoy your 36 hours and report back to me.
